Do students get more work done with or without music? Studies show that background music or clam songs help students focus more with their studies. Students can work better with many other things but music is on the top.
I interviewed the students, Jaslene Cintron, Cora H, and Eliana Feliciano about whether students should listen to music in class. Jaslena says, ‘I think it helps students focus more, because if it is dead silent it gets awkward doing the work and then they don't focus. Cora says, “I personally like listening to music during class but some kids don't focus as well and as long as the person can focus while listening they should be able to.” Eliana says, “I feel like it calms students down and likes helps them focus and do their work, because me personally I zone out when I don't listen to music.” Most girls said the same thing but what should they listen to, to help them fous, normal music/songs or calming animal and rain sounds? The web says classical tunes help you focus the most compared to other types of music but what if that is not for everyone? There were a lot of people in my class who like rap in some sort of what it can be just rap or sad rap, then there are others who like a mix of songs like Taylor Swift and Tyler The Creator, and others who like Country and love music. Students love to listen to music to keep focus, but most teachers won't let them even after they yell at them about grades and needing to keep focus. Students can get judged for the music they listen to but they dont care because it help them focus as much as they can. Students get higher grades and have a clear mind when something else is going on and not just a teacher yelling at the class. Does your teacher let you listen to music or something else to help you focus?
