Are mask mandates important? Well, mask mandates are
the requirements of wearing a mask outside. Some states
have them, while counties can also choose to get rid of
them. Some schools have decided to take away the mask
mandates and leave it to the teachers and students if they
wanna wear a mask. Some people are thrilled with this
decision while others aren’t.
There’s plenty of different opinions on mask mandates;
some people love them, some people don’t. Some people
don’t enjoy it because masks can get really uncomfortable
on your face, and it makes it way hotter than it is
especially with a mask on. Some people love it because it
protects people around them from any germs being
spread. Some people also don’t like them because they
think it relates to politics, in which some people rather not
get into politics like that. “We are getting into politics when
we talk about mask mandates in public spaces as
opposed to recommending them. I will be wearing a mask
for a long time—for as long as the virus is with us,” (Is It
Really Safe to End Mask Mandates in Schools?)
I interviewed my journalism class to see what everyone
thought of the mask mandates and how helpful they were.
About 60-70% of the class said that they made everything
around safe, and that they were essential. But, we still had
mixed answers. Most people also said they’re very
effective when it comes to protecting people from the virus
and omicron. While some people had different opinions,
the majority still thought they were effective and helpful.
People think they’re very important to protect people from
the virus that’s been going on for 2 years now.
Now, are mask mandates really important? Majority votes
that they are essential and effective while the minority
doesn’t really like or care for them as much as the others
in the class (and world) do. I personally think they’re
effective and think they shouldn’t be lifted for the sake of
everyone around us.
